Cardiac computed tomography angiography (CTA) has been closely tied to the development and improvement of scanner technology. The 64-slice CT, while sufficient for many clinical applications, does have some limitations, and the new technology currently emerging promises to be more effective for use in difficult patients with higher heart rates and arrhythmias
